Note: The Bio above was taken from O'REAR KITH AND KIN ~ A Book compiled and written by LaVerne G. O'Rear. It was completed July of 1996. It was dedicated to Earl Russell O'Rear (half brother to Laverne). Earl was the son of James Anderson O'Rear and his first wife Ada; LaVerne was the daughter of James Anderson O'Rear and his second wife Ida. Earl's love of family and interest in family history, inspired LaVerne to collect and compile this information about the O'Rear Clan, past and present.

Special Thanks: June Bunn Guthrie, for help in translating original document on to the computer. Margaret Marlette Cleveland, for retyping, reformatting, helping to get the manuscript ready for print.

A Special Thanks also to the cousins: Norma O'Rear Graf of Arkansas, Dr. Ed O'Rear of Alabama, Edward Clay O'Rear of Kentucky, and Marvin Kelly O'Rear of Tennessee. Their research, which they so generously shared with LaVerne, formed the foundation of the O'REAR KITH AND KIN. The Members of The O'Rear Family who enjoy and appreciate this book owe these four people a dept of gratitude.

"Authors Note: In 1976 my brother Earl, who was a proud and patriotic Marine, and I were discussing Bicentennial events and he challenged me to research and write our family story as a part of our celebration. This is my best effort and it took twenty years!!"
