      LELAND KLOEPPER

      A prayer services for Leland Ernest Kloepper was conducted Thursday, Dec. 3, in the Smith-Perkes Funeral Home in Green River.

      Pastor John Johansen of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiated.

      Further services and interment were in Sparta, Ill.

      Kloepper, 54, of Green River died Dec. 2 in the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs of cancer.

      He was born Sept. 9, 1933 in Sparta, Ill., a son of William Ernest and Rodean Belton Kloepper. He married Beverly Elaine Fey on Oct. 22, 1960 in Chester, Ill.

      He spent his early years and was educated in Sparta and had worked as a mechanic for Ford Motor Company and Chester Rock Quarry in Chester, Ill., prior to moving to Green River where he worked as an underground mechanic for FMC for 14 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

      He is survived by his wife of Green River; a son and four daughters, John Robert Kloepper, Debra Lee Kloepper, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Mercer, Nancy Kay Kloepper, LeAnn Kloepper and a grandson, Christopher Mercer, all of Green River; a brother and sister, Billy Kloepper and Mrs. Mason (Wanda) Mines, both of Sparta. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma. [1]
