  	Virgil H. Belton was born September 23, 1909 in Sparta, the son of Howard and Jennie Barnes Belton. His siblings include Mrs. Evelyn Pyron of Murphysboro, Mrs. Margaret Sapp of California, George Belton of Mattoon, and Gene Belton of Detroit, Michigan. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. He married Delila Stearns on May 25, 1929 in Murphysboro. Mr. Belton is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Jane Marshall of Murphysboro. Mr. Belton was a member of the Murphysboro First Baptist Church. He was a retired superintendent of Brown Shoe Company in Murphysboro. He was a member of the A.F. and A.M. Lodge in Sullivan, Moose Lodge in Mattoon, and the Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge, both in Murphysboro. Mr. Belton died in Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri of heart complications.
