    • Howard W. Belton was born August 31, 1880 in Sparta, the son of Charles and Nancy Belton.

      Mr. Belton married Jennie Barnes on March 13, 1903. She died in 1958. His children include Virgil, George, Eugene, Mrs. Evelyn Pyron, Mrs. Margaret Sapp, and a son, Laverne, who preceded him in death.

      Mr. Belton was a retired pattern maker for the Egyptian Iron Works.

      He died in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro after an extended illness.
