  Laura Ruth “Dutton” (Cassem) Dobson was born September 16, 1917 in Terry, Montana. She is the eldest daughter of Walter and Olive (Lyon) Dutton. Laura lived on a farm southwest of Elmore, MN where she attended rural Watts School. She was married to Merle Cassem on May 29, 1935 in Elmore, MN. She worked for Koehler Pharmacy for many years and later for Snyder Drug, both located in Blue Earth, MN. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Blue Earth where she was active in the Christian Women’s Club. She had also been a foster parent for several children throughout the years. Her husband Merle passed away in 1971 and Laura was later married to Wendall (Wendy) Dobson in April of 1977 in Blue Earth. Laura retired at the age of 72 following 33 years of service. Wendy preceded her in death in 1993. Laura is survived by her son, Marty (Deanna) Cassem of Blue Earth, MN; son, Larry (Bonnie) Cassem of Elk River, MN; Stephen (Lynn) Cassem of Shakopee, MN; daughter Dora (Ronald) Fowler of Truman, MN; Daughter, Donna (David) Fischer of Bakersfield, CA; Brother, Ralph (Ilean) Dutton of Blue Earth, MN, Brother, Robert (Marlys) Dutton of Sarasota, FL; Sister, Dorothy (Pete) Hanson of Blue Earth, MN, Sister, Marian (Barney) Eastvold of Blue Earth, MN; Seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents (Walter and Olive Dutton), Two husbands (Merle Cassem and Wendall Dobson), and Two sisters (Helen (Dutton) Onsen and Elsie Dutton). [2]
