  	Linked parents are "speculative" as the births of only 6 of their children's births are recorded at Boxboro; and the only d.rec for her is her gs. All that St Johnsbury's histories say of the Ayers is that "Samuel Ayer came at an early day and settled in the NW part of town". I can find no indication of where he came from. Contributor: Donald R Newcomb - DRN01.Genealogy at newcomb.ml1.net - writes, "George Carleton's 1770 will did fob his daughter, "Mary Aires", off with 5s. So, there is an indication that George had a daughter, Mary, who married an Ayer(s). His other daughter, Sarah, got £6 13s 4d, so Mary either already got her share or had displeased her father in some way". [3]
