Dutton of Keene can celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary next year. They were married at Meriden. Mr. Dutton was born at Mendon, Ill., April 23, 1846. His wife before their marriage was Maggie Teter. She was born in West Virginia, Sept. 13, 1855, her parents being Henry and Rebecca Teter. Her home before coming to Wabaunsee county was at Centerville, Iowa.

  Alma Enterprise, Friday, Jan. 24, 1941, page 1: Died Mrs. Margaret Ann Dutton, 85, died early Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maude Fauerbach, at Maple Hill, following a long illness. She was born September 13, 1855, and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Teeter, to Kansas from Virginia when a small child. She was married to the late Daniel F. Dutton, Maple Hill pioneer, February 6, 1879, and made her home at Keene for 55 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Olive Davidson, Grand Valley, Colo.; Mrs. Mary Martin, Benkelman, Neb.; and Mrs. Maude Fauerbach, Maple Hill; one son, Frank Dutton, Dover. ********************* My friend and fellow researcher Jill Herzog walked this cemetery many years ago and recorded the gravestones. She noted the stones for Margaret and her husband Daniel were home-made and very weathered. It is possible they are no longer readable, if they still exist. [7]
