  	Benjamin J. Beane was born at South Wheelock Vt., in the year 1821, and died Jan. 14, 1905, aged 83 years, 9 months, and 7 days. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, Iowa. He was married to Joan Folsom, Oct. 16, 1849, and 6 children were born to them, 3 boys and 3 girls. Of the 6 children, only 3 remain, Mrs. Eldon Hahn, William Beane of Vermont, and Miss Anna Beane. Benjamin's wife died October 17, 1877. He came West in 1886 and settled near Battle Creek where he has lived ever since. It is not quite a year since he lost is son, Dr. Albert Beane. [5]
