CHESTER -- Clifford B. Diefenbach, 81, formerly of Sparta, died at 1:17 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with the Rev. Tom Foster officiating. Burial will be in Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, both at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville.

CHESTER, Clifford B. Diefenbach, 81, of Chester, formerly of Sparta passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 1:17 am at St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester, IL. Surrounded by his children and wife.
Clifford was born on December 14, 1929 in St. Louis, MO the son of Walter Diefenbach and Lela Kloth Diefenbach.
Clifford married Pearl Dean Bush on August 20, 1949 in Sparta, IL.
He was a retired farmer and retired manager for Baldwin Grain Elevator. He was a member of the Loyalty Baptist Church in Eden, IL and the Randolph County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife: Pearl Dean Diefenbach of Chester, IL; sons: Mike and Tammy Diefenbach of Coulterville, IL, Edward and Linda Diefenbach of Halls, TN, Randall and Debra Diefenbach of Sparta, IL, Thomas and Tomi Diefenbach of Freeburg, IL, David and Debra of Columbia, TN; daughter: Carol Sue and Jay Allison of Chester, IL; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. Tom Foster will be officiating. Burial will be at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, IL
Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Thursday from 5-8 pm and then on Friday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
Memorials may be made to Loyalty Baptist Church Building Fund.
