  	Playwright. He was born in a middle-class Jewish family. His best-known and celebrated work is the play "Death of a Salesman," for which he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1949. His works focused on family, morality, and personal responsibility and decried the growing fragmentation of American society. He was briefly married to actress, Marilyn Monroe. He died at the age of 89 in Roxbury, Connecticut. [3]
