  	Businessman. The second husband of child actress turned politician, Shirley Temple. A prominent businessman, and maritime expert, he met his future wife in Honolulu, Hawaii, while he was working for a shipping company. The couple married on December 16, 1950, and had two children. Black who earned his master's degree from Stanford University also served as a naval intelligence officer in the Pacific during World War II, earning the Silver Star and other honors. He passed away from complications of bone marrow cancer at his home in Woodside, a suburb of San Francisco, California, at the age of 86, with his wife and other family members at his side. [3]
