  	He was born Frederick W but very seldom used his first name. He was the son of Harry & Elva (Kimball) Coburn, gained his early education at East Montpelier and Plainfield schools, attended Montpelier Seminary and did post-graduate work at Lexington (MA) High School. Later he attended Utah State University. He was a self-employed farmer at East Montpelier until 1964 when he began work for the State of Vermont in the Human Services Agency, retiring in April due to ill health. He was past master of Wyoming Masonic Lodge 80, a member of the York Rite Masonic bodies of Kingsbury Chapter 77, OES, all of North Montpelier. He was past president of Montpelier Freeze Lockers Corp., a charter member of red Clover Chapter 117, Family Campers Association and a member of the North American Family Campers Association. [1]
