  	Marriage to Mary Ellen Rose Astoria, Fulton Co., IL March 23 1959 Winter J. Ray, 97, of Rushville died at 10:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 1992, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. Born Oct. 31, 1895, in Fulton County to John N. and Nellie Jane (nee Fisher) Ray. He married Mary Ellen Rose on March 23, 1959, in Astoria. She died Feb. 11, 1970. He also was preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving are one brother, Clinton F. "Jim" of Astoria; one sister, Mrs. Doane "Mabel" Trone of Rushville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He lived in Chillicothe and was a Santa Fe Railroad conductor for 37 years, retiring in 1963. A World War I Army veteran, he was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25, Astoria Christian Church and a 50-year member of Astoria Lodge 100, AF&AM. Services will at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. The Rev. Wayne Bonser will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home, with Masonic services by his lodge at 8. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery with military services conducted by American Legion Post 25. Memorials may be made to Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
