  	SAMUEL J. ROSE ASTORIA -- Samuel J. Rose, 78, formerly of Astoria, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday at his home, 1212 S. Ethel, Peoria. He was born in Fulton County May 1, 1890 to Stewart and Etta Dutton Rose. He was married to Flossie Farwell July 5, 1913. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Howe of Lewistown and Mrs. Meryle Briney of Summum; three sons, Robert of Peoria, Max of Sacramento, Calif., and Stanley of Morton; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs Austin Hamm of Browning and Mrs Winter Ray of Astoria. He was preceded in death by a son and a brother. Mr Rose was a 50 year member of Astoria Masonite Lodge 100 and the Marbletown church. Services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Shawgo memorial Home with the Rev. Van Cleve officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be this afternoon and evening at the memorial home where asonic rites will be at 8 p.m.
