  Elwood D. Packard, a former employee of The Wassaic State School, died on Tuesday, March 6, at his home at 353 Chestnut Street, Oneonta, NY. His wife, Harriett; a son, Dwight A., and two grandchildren, all of Oneonta, survive him. He was born in Winthrop, N.Y., on March 26, 1903, the son of Lucius H. and Lora Dutton Packard. On July 10, 1929, he married Harriett Stark of Winthrop. They opened The Packard Store, a meat and grocery market. They later moved to Oneonta where Mr. Packard was employed by Wassaic State School until he retired in 1969. Mr. Packard was a member of the Universalist Church in Oneonta, The PBOE # 1312 of Oneonta; and the Brasher Lodge F & AM #541, Brasher Falls, N.Y. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop, NY.
