- Edna Lucinda Penelope Dutton, 93, Labadie, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, in Washington.
Mrs. Dutton was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Hecker, the daughter of James A. O'Brien and wife Lillian, nee Phillips.
She received her education in Labadie and attended Kirkword High School.
Mrs. Dutton was united in marriage June 27, 1931, at Labadie Methodist Church to Julius Dutton.
The couple made their home in the Labadie area.
Mrs. Dutton was a member of the Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors and the Iris Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Dutton, on July 5, 1989; one son, Larry Dutton; one brother, Earl O'Brien; and one granddaughter, Dr. Mary Jane Klott.
She is survived by one son, Joseph "J.J." Dutton and wife Flora, Ardmore, Okla.; three daughters, Betty J. Klott and husband James, Hermann, and Lillian Schultz and husband Herman and Julia Jones and husband Richard, all of Labadie; one brother, Arthur O'Brien, Union; 28 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 11, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. Leo Shoemaker officiating.
Interment was in Old Bethel Cemetery, Labadie.
Memorials to the Old Bethel Cemetery, Labadie, are preferred.
The Dutton family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
