Death Takes Long Time-County Resident
Leonard Isenhauer of 506 PlumStreet, Grayling, a resident
of Crawford County since 1902, passed away Thursday, February 20. 1964, at the home of his daughter, Mrs
Norman Feldhauser, after an eight-week illness. He was 85 years old Mr. Isenhauer was born October 19, 1878, in Bloomfield County, in the Saginaw Valley, to Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Isenhauer. He was married to the former Grace Dutton in Roscommon in 1901, and moved to "Grayling the following year. A teamster by occupation, he worked in the lumber camps, mills and woods in Roscommon and Crawford counties for years. He always stopped overnight at the Schreiber farm, Sigsbee, on trips between Lewiston and Roscommon. In later years he drove the doctors with a horse and cutter, when a new life was ushered into the world, and also drove a hearse when one of his fellow towns people left this world. He provided sleigh and cutter rides to nearly every child in the county as long as he kept a team, because of his fondness for children. He always was there with a helping hand to his neighbors, and will be missed by young and old. His wife passed away in November of 1945.
Survivors are three sons, Charles of Manchester, Earl and Leo of Grayling three daughters, Metha Hanover of Bay City, Mabel Ostling of Roscommon, and Helen Feldhauser of Grayling twenty grandchildren and twenty-one great
grandchildren,
Funeral services were held Monday, February 24th, at 2 o'clock from the Sorenson Funeral Home with the Rev. A. C. Fennell officiating. Music was by Mrs, Arthur Feldhauser. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery with his grandsons serv-
ing as pallbearers.
