- Belva (Doyen) Brewer Morgan, 95, of Norway, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Center, Concordia. She was born on January 28, 1916 at Rice to Desera and Elizabeth (Vignery) Doyen. Belva graduated from Concordia High School. She was married to Bill Brewer on July 20, 1935 until his passing. Belva was then married to John Morgan on December 30, 1971 until his passing on October 1, 1989. She was the postmaster at Norway and worked for the United States Postal Service for over 50 years. Belva was a member of the First Christian Church in Concordia, NARFE, Norway Coffee Club, and over 50 years with Eastern Star.
Belva is survived by 2 nieces, Ruth Ann Jones of Topeka, Fern Waters of Concordia; nephew, Larry Doyen of Salina; step-daughter, Virginia Dawson and husband Neil of Phoenix, AZ; step-son, Richard Morgan and wife Susan of Dallas, TX; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Bill Brewer; 2nd husband, John Morgan; step-daughter, Sharon Morgan; and brothers, Levi Doyen and Walter Doyen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in the First Christian Church, Concordia, with Rev. Jeff Nielsen officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2011 with family greeting friends from 7 – 8 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Memorials may be left to the Norway Community Center with the funeral home in charge. [1]
