  	George L. Davis, sixty, Weedsport, a railroad employee was killed yesterday when he was struck by a westbound passenger train while flagging for a work crew. -Times Herald Wed. Nov. 20, 1946 George is remembered by his family as being quite a special man. When Amelia Zellar lost her husband Howard suddenly in 1926, she found herself a young widow with six children. Not only that, she had lost her youngest child that same year. Not having the money to raise them herself, she was forced to send the boys to different relatives. George--a recent widower himself--stepped in and married her, and the boys were able to return home. He raised them as his own. [1]
