Dutton was born on 30 Jan 1759 in Billerica Mass; in "The History of the Town of Lyndeborough NH" by Donovan & Woodward, the date of birth is given as 23 May 1760, and place of birth as "West Nottingham", which later became Hudson, NH. The history further states the belief that he came via Westford, MA, as that is where his wife was from. William was one of 4 brothers (sons of Josiah and Sarah (Parker) Dutton) who settled in the early days of Lyndeborough; the history states that all 4 were born in "West Nottingham". [4]
