  Allen Eugene "Gene" Dutton, 82, of Nampa passed away at home on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Inurnment will follow at Lower Boise Cemetery, Parma. Gene was born at home in Parma on June 1, 1926, to Allen "Teeny" and Minty Dutton. He attended Parma schools and graduated from Parma High. He joined the Navy and proudly served his country as a 3rd Class Petty Officer during WWII. Gene returned to Parma after the war and married the love of his life, Gerry Parker on Oct. 11, 1947. Gene worked as a meat cutter for several years and as a salesman for H.H. Keim for over 20 years. He loved camping, riding four-wheelers with his grandsons and working around the home. Gene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gerry of Nampa; their two sons, Gary (Bobby Kay) Dutton of Caldwell and Robert (Melody) Dutton of Nampa; his brother, Jerry (Barbara) Dutton of Boise; grandchildren, Mike (Linda) Dutton of Vancouver, WA, Christie (Phil) Davison of Sand Hollow, Tyler Dutton of Nampa, Casey Dutton of Nampa and Trevor Wirz of Nampa; and great-grandchildren, Brittnie Dutton of Vancouver, WA, Sierra Bott of Sand Hollow and Derick & Beau Davison of Sand Hollow. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, James Michael Dutton. Gene's family would like to thank all of you who visited and cared for him.
